Venus McVee & Notorious Erich Von P is the collaborative alias project of two artists you may already know from MerchTablePro — Sapphira Vee and melodywhore. Venus McVee is Sapphira Vee’s alter ego, bringing her industrial electronic vocals and glam sensibility to the collaboration, while Notorious Erich Von P is melodywhore’s counterpart, handling instrumentation and production. Together they create something distinct from either of their solo projects — a darker, more cinematic electronica that has been described as chapters from a very dark and special book. Released on Ghostpile Records, their catalogue includes singles Under Your Spell, Hard Candy, and Puppet (all 2019), the Lunar Love Slave album (2020), and the Upstairs at Erich’s release (2021) which features their haunting cover of Yazoo’s Nobody’s Diary alongside original track Out of the Ashes. Fans of Sapphira Vee and melodywhore will find something familiar here but unmistakably new.
